The soprano Johanna Mohr was born in Stuttgart/Germany. She studied at the academy for music and art in Hamburg, where she was taught by Prof. Elisabeth Jalbert. She continued her singing education with Helga Pilarzcyk, with whom she worked for several years.
Further improvement came from taking part in several masterclasses, for instance with Kurt Widmer (Basel), Rossana Bertini (Italien), Michel Piquemal (Frankreich) and with „The Hilliard Ensemble“ (England). She is well known as a concert-, oratorio- and Liedsinger and participated in several theatreproductions, readings and revues. Her repertory includes CD-, TV and radiorecordings (a.a. with Eva Mattes, Thierry Salmon, Christoph and Claus Bantzer, Barbara Nüsse, Matthias Wegner) as well as engagements in the Northern Germany Radiochoir (NDR) or the Radiochoir Berlin.
Recently she came out as a talent of voice improvisation, working with Claus Bantzer Barry Jordan (organ/piano), Warnfried Altmann, Leszec Laszlo (sax) and Claus Stötter (trumpet).
